Measuring is hard.

Spent some time measuring for the front field/turnout.  I feel like this should be fairly simple, but in reality, trying to figure out how far from the neighbor's fence line, how far back from the road, how close to the tree line, how far onto the gravel by the barn, how/where the gate(s) are going to go... how we want to set it up so it's easy when we divide into two runs later... it was kind of frustrating.  But, it was also in the 90's, and I was a bit tired from the day before.  The bottom line is, no matter what size I did the math on, I'm short on posts!!!  The posts that I spent all day yesterday getting!!!  Five trips to town and going to three different stores and picking through to find the BEST and prettiest 5 x 8 and 6 x 8 wood posts.  Do you know how embarrassing that is, and how neurotic I looked?  I'm pretty sure the people at Tractor Supply never want to see me, again.  And for sure the guy at Orscheln's who I made stand out in the rain and show me all his posts wasn't happy.  Sigh.  I'm getting up tomorrow and getting more.
(I did have fun playing with the big tape measure, though.)

  1. That's their job! AND, what's worse? Being annoying to someone who is supposed tp be helping you? Or having posts you aren't happy with. I say, embrace your (totally justified) demanding freak-show of a post shopper.
